CPR Classes

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is administered when someone’s breathing and/or pulse stops. When both stop, sudden death has occurred. Sudden death has many possible causes – poisoning, drowning, choking, suffocation, electrocution, smoke inhalation, etc. – but the most common cause is heart attack. Everyone should know the symptoms of heart attack and the actions for survival. You can help save heart attack and other sudden death victims if you act quickly to start the chain of survival. This chain includes the steps to treat heart attack and cardiac arrest and must be performed as soon as possible to help the victim survive. The Waveland Fire Department is actively involved in the American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Program. Each year we instruct a wide variety of community members in CPR procedures. And who are the community members that train with us? Regular citizens, nurses, students, healthcare workers, firefighters, day care workers, teachers and bus drivers to name a few. On average, 200 people a year receive CPR certification through us. Classes are open to anyone interested in learning CPR. Contact us (the Waveland Fire Department) at 228-467-2042.We off the following certification courses:
